Venue Review

Food 3/5
Ahhhh the Burger 🍔 . The nations favourite. You only have to look on the High St to see that burger venues are now as commonplace as coffee shops. Five Guys, Handmade Burger, Gourmet Burger and today’s review, Bread Meats Bread.
There has been a lot of hype especially amongst food bloggers in regards to this chain and I am just getting round to trying it to see what the fuss is all about. While doing a bit of shopping up at The Fort we decide it’s one of the better looking “chains” and decide to give it a whirl.
When entering we are greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our seats the furniture and feeling isn’t far off a Nando’s.
I personally opt for a Californian Burger which sounds delish. A beef burger with sweet potatoes and bacon covered in maple syrup & side of Halloumi Fries. My friend opts for a Gluten Free Salad & it’s great that the venue do most of their burgers in Gluten Free Buns also. My other friend chose a Spicy Chicken Burger.
I found the burger to be tasty, the sweet potato fries 🍟 and bacon with maple syrup were the saving grace. The beef quality was average for myself and the bun while nice didn’t blow me away. I was expecting bigger and more brioche, more of a sweeter and crispier bun.
The Halloumi Fries were rather chunky & a little bland tasting. Smaller with more crunch would be better. My friends enjoyed their choices. The salad 🥗 was fresh and the spicy chicken 🐓 burger with coleslaw was satisfying.
As the official Mystery Diner though I get the casting vote 🙋🏻‍♂️While I scoffed the lot, I have had better burgers! The two let downs were the bun and beef quality. I feel I could create better at home!
That being said the price and service were very much in line for what you were paying for. I would return to try a different option as I might get on better with the Chicken option. Better than Five Guys although that’s not saying much. The food was slightly over rated but a pleasant experience all the same. @breadmeatsbread #burger #reviews #instadaily #instafood #foodporn #glasgowfood #scotland #thefort #critics #mystery #diners #foodvlogger
