👩🍳 On the look out for a light bite & a few drinks before attending a gig, we decided on this lil’ place. Iberica is an authentic Spanish tapas restaurant situated on Glasgow’s St Vincent Street. Upon arriving, the waitress greeted us with a friendly smile and offered to take our coats. The decor consists of big, beautiful lamp shades which creates perfect lighting throughout the restaurant. Also hanging on the walls are some eye catching Spanish artwork adding to the Latin vibes. It’s rather spacious with a lengthy bar. As a lover of Sauvignon Blanc, I opted for a large glass of the ‘Fenomenal’. The waiter poured a little to let me taste, it was perfect to accompany my tapas dishes.
To start, we ordered a mix of cheese & cured meats. The waitress recommended fresh bread to go with this which I thought was a nice touch. I enjoyed this dish, but the blue cheese was a little too strong for my taste. Now for the main attraction, the tapas! Croquetas with serrano ham & cheese which were delicious 👌Patatas Bravas with Bravas sauce & Alioli, potatoes were crispy and covered in a mix of two delicious sauces, but lacked in a little seasoning. Gambas, red prawns in a garlic sauce, prawns were juicy although the sauce was a little watery. Aubergine & Asturian cheese, roasted aubergine filled with Tres Oscos cheese, honey vinaigrette & hazelnut pesto. This dish was interesting, very well presented & flavoursome. Last but not least, Pitu Chicken Rice with Piquillo Pepper & Saffron. This was by far my favourite dish, the chicken was juicy & tender & the mixture of flavours were fab! Highly recommend 👌 As I was going out, I decided to finish with a double vodka (singles don’t exist right? 😛) Overall I had a lovely experience in Iberica, the service was formal but friendly, food was tasty and the drink was spot on! The value dropped in the scoring slightly as I feel it is a little on the pricey side. I will definitely return to try some more dishes (and a few cheeky drinks 🥂😁) @ibericarestaurants
